As usual, class failed to keep Tempest’s attention and she found herself staring out the window instead. Her mind wandered back to the end of her dream that morning. When the lunch bell rang, she headed off to the cafeteria on autopilot. She was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she didn’t even notice the crystal pegasus until they had already collided.
“Oops!” the other pony exclaimed.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going!” Tempest snapped back. She immediately regretted her tone and began to gather up her books.
“Sorry, I didn’t…” he started to apologize.
Desperate to leave before making matters worse, Tempest interrupted with a “Whatever,” and raced off.

It was only after sitting down in the cafeteria that she noticed the chain of a necklace sticking out of her books. Her head hit the table. Great. Now, not only will he think I’m rude, he’ll think I’m a thief, too. I’d better find him and give it back. This proved easier said than done, and Tempest didn’t spot the crystal pegasus before the bell rang again. Resuming her search after school, she eventually spotted him heading for the dorms.
“Hey!” she called out, running to catch up with him.
He stopped and turned.
When Tempest reached him, she magically pulled the necklace out and held it out to him.
Avoiding his gaze, Tempest asked, “Is this yours?”
“Yeah…” he said, taking it. He looked it over before quickly putting it on.
Biting the bullet, Tempest continued with, “I’m sorry I was mean to you, I was just in a hurry…” And completely oblivious to my surroundings.
“That’s ok…” he said, smiling.
For a terrifying instant, Tempest’s mind was completely empty of responses, so she said the first thing that popped into her head. “By the way, who gave that to you?” She mentally facehoofed.
“My brother.”
“Really?”
“Yeah…”
Sensing the oncoming emotional trainwreck, Tempest desperately backpedalled to introductions. “Oh! I’m Tempest.”
“I’m Darksun, nice to meet you,” he replied. His necklace glowed a dull blue.
“Why did it just do that?” Tempest asked, gesturing at the necklace.
“Don’t know, I can’t really understand it sometimes.”
Noticing the sun’s position, Tempest quickly excused herself with, “Huh. Well I’d better go now. Nice to meet you Darksun.” Gah! I’m almost late!

sta.sh/writer/#526957419 bookends this, but due to uncertainty over how legal some elements are for PHS, I've relegated it to a semi-canon stash file.

Just kidding! Looks like Tempest is making friends, or at least acquaintances pretty quickly though her first impressions needs work...well, provided the storm cloud doesn't butt in.
