Tempest discovered her weather magic at an early age when she accidentally caused a nasty thunderstorm. The second she realized it was her fault, she ran. When she staggered out of the woods the next afternoon, she had wings, a cutie mark, and four magic hooflets. As her weather magic seems to draw on her emotions, she bottles everything up and shoves it deep down. Even with these countermeasures, other ponies sometimes get inconvenienced by Tempest’s magical leakage, and they often ostracize her. This has led to her becoming even more withdrawn and antisocial. She always has a tiny storm cloud hovering over her (on her best days, it lightens up enough to only be potentially stormy).

Her cutie mark is a storm cloud illuminated from behind by the hidden sun.

Her full name is Tempestatem Regina.
